Data we collect

Noted is designed to work entirely offline with no accounts required. All data stays on your device.

• Notes and reminders — stored locally on your device using Hive local database. We never upload your notes to any server.
• App settings — your preferences (theme, snooze duration, swipe mode, categories) are stored locally and never transmitted.

Data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use analytics SDKs or advertising trackers.
• We do not share any data with third parties for any purpose.
• We do not store your notes or reminders on any server — everything stays on your device.

Permissions used

• Post notifications — required to deliver reminder notifications at the time you set.
• Schedule exact alarms — required to fire reminders at the precise time you choose, even when the device is in low-power mode.
• Receive boot completed — used to reschedule pending reminders after a device reboot so you never miss an alarm.
• Wake lock — used to briefly wake the device when a reminder fires, ensuring the notification is delivered reliably.
• Request ignore battery optimizations — requested on first launch so the OS does not delay or suppress your reminders. You can revoke this at any time in Android Settings.

Local notifications

All reminders in Noted are scheduled locally on your device using Android's AlarmManager. No notification content is ever sent to or processed by an external server. Your note text appears in the notification only on your own device.

Future versions

Future versions of Noted may include optional cloud backup or Google AdMob for in-app advertising. When any such feature is added, this privacy policy will be updated to reflect the data collected, and you will be notified via the app's Play Store update notes before the change takes effect.

Data retention and deletion

All notes, reminders, and settings are stored locally on your device. You can delete individual notes at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe your child has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note the changes in the app's Play Store update description. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
